Homelessness in Australia is a national emergency - on average, people living on the streets have a life expectancy of just 47. That's why we're raising funds for Beddown to establish 6 new venues in Queensland. Help me change lives and save lives with a $47 tax-deductible donation.

47Up - Let's Change47 together

 I turn 46 this month - 47 is the average life expectancy of people who are homeless. Hundreds of people lose their life each year on the streets of Australia. This is a National emergency and needs to change.

As a person who is 46 this year, I have pledged to Change 47 by raising funds to support six new Beddown venues across Queensland. Beddown isn't just a safe place to sleep, it's a health and social response giving people access to a range of sevices that are life changing.

Compassion is a Latin term

The English word "Compassion" is a compound Latin term. 
"com" - meaning "with"
"passion" - meaning "to suffer"

It's so easy to walk past someone who is suffering.
It's much more difficult to stop and "to suffer with" them.

As you see/hear the increasingly prevalent news reports about the growing housing crisis, and the rising tide of homelessness on the streets of Australia, choose to not walk past. Decide to not turn a blind eye and remain ignorant. 

Allow the suffering of another person to become yours - be compassionate. Thank you to all who have given to this campaign, and who have allowed themselves to be moved to compassion.
