Homelessness in Australia is a national emergency - on average, people living on the streets have a life expectancy of just 47. That's why we're raising funds for Beddown to establish 6 new venues in Queensland. Help me change lives and save lives with a $47 tax-deductible donation.

47Up - Let's Change47 together

47 is the average life expectancy of people who are homeless. Hundreds of people lose their life each year on the streets of Australia. This is a National emergency and needs to change.

As a person who turned 47 a few years ago (I'm now 54), I have pledged to Change 47 by raising funds to support six new Beddown venues across Queensland. Beddown isn't just a safe place to sleep, it's a health and social response giving people access to a range of services that are life changing. I'll be supporting this 'fun'raiser for Beddown by swimming 470 laps of a 25 metre pool over the next 4 weeks. 

So, please help me stay motivated to complete the 470 laps and let's change lives and save lives together, by making a donation of $47. It's tax deductible, so get in before 30 June.

We Passed $470! Now it's Doubled, C'mon!

Wow! I've completed 180 laps so far (3 x 60 laps in a row). Guess what? We've beaten the $470 target already! Thanks to Graham, Pete, Dee, Jacob, Susan, Tamara, Kristy, Tammy Sophie and Kate for your messages, encouragement and donations. 

New target - let's see if we can double it - $970 before I finish my 470 laps! I think we can! That will provide real help for @beddown and #change47 to really help those who need it.

I'll hit 240 laps this week, so thanks again and keep up the great work!

Wow! $355 already donated to help people who are sleeping rough this winter through the #Change47 campaign. Hey, just finished my first 60 laps yesterday and thanks to my first sponsor; covering the first 48 laps @ $1/lap. I hope to raise a minimum of $1/lap = $470 for the Change47 campaign.
